Well, the seeds are starting to be planted. We are three days away from starting, and things are definitely starting to shift more towards thinking about the game. The first couple of discussions with people were just nice life discussions. But, now, it's starting to change, and I'm loving it!
So, at this point, I'm looking for people to really place some trust in this season. I have talked with Harmony, and I mentioned in a message that I would like to work with him in the game. Harmony agreed that would be a good idea. There haven't been anymore discussions yet, but he at least responded. We'll see what happens. I think Harmony will be a big player this season. I think he has a lot of dedication, like me, and will have a good social game. So, I find it would be better to have Harmony on my side, than as an enemy. We'll see, maybe I've misjudged him. It's hard to say with this game, whether somebody will be amazing or not live up to their expectations. Survivor and Big Brother have shown unlikely contestants either winning or making it far and having an impact in the game.
I've also talked with Joner. Joner messaged me back after I introduced myself and immediately wanted to talk about the game. To me, that's a good sign. He reached out to me, so I like that. Joner was concerned that he would be out early because he signed up later. I told Joner that if he participated, he'd be good with me. I specifically told him that I want to get out a player that is inactive in the first week. No sense in going after a big threat, right off the bat. He seemed to go along with the idea. He could be blowing smoke, but hopefully he's taken a liking to me. I told Joner I really like him as a player. I hope he responds positively and I can work with him, as well.
At this point, I have not established any alliances. It's way too early. I told Joner that I thought Harmony and Bryson were cool people, but nothing about starting an alliance. If an alliance forms, then that's great. But, I'm keeping my options open. But, Harmony and Joner are two people I've specifically reached out to so I could establish something like an alliance. We'll see if it pays off, or if I've overstepped.
STRATEGY THOUGHTS:
One thing I'm noticing about myself right off the bat is that I'm taking everything anyone says with skepticism and caution. Unlike when I played in previous seasons, I don't have those established connections and relationships. There's no Yami, no AJ, no Cody, no Jake. Or, they might be here, but I don't know it's them. And, hopefully, they don't know that I am "me." So, I'm trying to be very careful. I don't want to bring people together, at this point. I want to give honest opinions about people and I want to establish connections that will keep me safe. But, that's it. I don't want to go into the house with an established alliance. Because then, things can change. The first HOH Challenge is huge. Because if an alliance is created before the HOH Competition and someone outside wins it, that could be dangerous. I really think the first HOH Competition will be Buzzwords. That, or it will be some kind of luck based challenge. Obviously, I could be wrong. But, more likely than not, I believe this HOH is not one that will be won by skill. I think it will either be based on trusting others or it will be luck. So, I don't want to create any unwanted attention, because I think I'll need all the luck in the world if I even decide I want the first HOH.
So, for now, I'm just trying to play it cool, continue to talk, establish connections with as many people as I can, but not commit to an alliance until HOH is decided and to see how the cards fall. I am committed to trying and figure out whether someone will be an easy target in Week 1 or not. I want to get rid of someone that isn't participating. To me, it's easy to get people around that idea, and prevent causing waves. In a sense, people might be thinking the same way. Why go after a big target in Week 1, unless that person has really overplayed and is a huge threat like Mike from BB5 or Brian from BB10? To me, I don't think it's a good idea. I hope the house can make a house decision Week 1 and just get rid of someone who isn't participating.
I haven't heard back from Joe, yet, so my hope is that maybe Joe won't participate. It would be an easy decision in Week 1. We'll see.
I'm looking forward to starting in three days!
