So this week, I have a lot of real world commitments (mainly my Final Exams for the semester which I need to study for) and I probably won't be able to talk to everyone to get safety. Hence I had to buy immunity from the gift shop for the rather pricy amount of 110 Chens. Because of my immunity here, I get a spot in the Final 9 and that is Jury baby.
So we have a Chens comp and it is all about co-operation. The ideal result is to set everyone free which not only leads to some money in the bank for everyone but betters ties and relationships between the players which is valuable for me as someone who is relying on these more casual "hey I have your back" type relationships in these early-ish part of the game (which will become more solid alliances moving forward into the Jury phase). However Jake pulled a dick move on the rest of us and take the 170 Chens and steal the 40 chens from myself Bryson and Joner. I totally understand why he did it as it puts him in an advantageous position when he is against the wall. That is a huge payday and it puts him in a really powerful position as he can pretty much buy anything in the gift shop and who knows what will come up. On the upside, because I spent some major coin on Immunity this week, I only have 10 Chens to be stolen from me.
After the Chens challenge. Jake approaches me to give back the Chens he would have stolen from me had I actually had any And basically promised me the world if he survives eviction. Sure, whatever. *eyeroll* I tell him that I am voting to keep him in the house to keep him on my side should he stay and to get his newly acquired Chens if he gets evicted. But let's be real, he is trying to play me like a fiddle here. Clearly he doesn't know that I hear the music. Rule number 1 about manipulating people, don't make it fucking obvious that you are manipulating people and Jake, you have failed at that.
I think this is shaping up to be an interesting eviction. I think the vets will vote to keeping of their own in Jake, Gabe will vote off Van which leaves 5 newbie voters (possibly 4 based on who is HoH). I know myself and Joner will vote Jake. I have tried to convince Christian to vote Jake . I just don't know which way his vote will go.
Wow, it was surprising to see the vote go the way it did, I thought the newbies would band together to get out Jake but clearly that didn't happen or it did happen and there was funny business with some voting powers. I think it was the former but I hope it is the later.
After the vote, me and Joner talk about how we can move forward as newbies in a house where vets are in a more dominate position. He brings up the idea of bringing James into the fold which has lead to the creation of the Secret Syndicate. I hope one of us get HoH this week that will unify us as an alliance of 3.
I think Jake has suss'ed me out as a vote against him at the eviction and he is trying to bring me back into his fold. I want to convince him that the next few weeks will pretty much be newbies vs vets and that it might be handy to have a secret alliance with someone on the other side of the house. I haven't gotten a response from him but I hope he like the idea.
