Is the OTT a good season? I haven't been following along given that it is on All-Acess and that is geo-blocked in my corner of the world.

No its not that good. The main problem is that America has way too much power and pretty much decides everything. The cast members are petty and have no real strategy since America decides the winner. It's not totally dismal, however, and can be improved easily next time.

I felt like OTT had potential when it first aired, but the moment I learned of all the power America truly had, I knew things would go downhill. Regardless, there are some people who are truly playing the game. Alex comes to mind as someone who is playing the game. Scott is adapting to everything happening around him, watching, and claiming to pay attention to what America is doing. I've found myself watching less and less of the season, not because I don't enjoy watching it (because I do), I just don't have the time between working and hanging out with friends. Although, if I can make time for this game, I could probably make time for OTT.
Regardless, I find it kind of cheap they had siblings on the season. They keep trying to play it off like they knew there was a chance, but didn't think it would happen. But it had to have clicked in at least one of their heads that both were playing when they were asked to talk about what they'd to if their sister was playing the game with them. Also, the fact no one has really caught on to it (I know Jason has noticed, and mentioned it to a few people. But I can't keep up with everything, and I'm not sure if the whole house knows now or not) is kind of jarring. You'd figure these people (most of which claim to be big time fans) would put two and two together, and either blow up their game, or try to blackmail them. Even if you ruin your game in the process, you are at least some what making the game fair for everyone else. Even if Alex doesn't want to work with her sister (unless that changed) it would still be better with at least one of them gone.

I am watching it less and less too. First of all, it is kind of annoying having to check in all the time to watch. Second, I'm busy. Third, the quality of the feeds is very poor technically. It is constantly going out and it runs very slowly on my laptop. Other videos dont do that and neither did the feeds for BB18 so it must be something happening.
The Plastics are much better strategically at the game if it were a normal season but I am not sure it is the right approach when America decides the winner. Though, it seems America has switched its heart and now likes the Plastics better than the Jamboree.

Honestly, I kind of like the Plastics. I'm not a Scott fan in the slightest, but I like smart strategic players. Alex is playing everyone on the Plastic side, and I love seeing that. The Jamboree side... It has Jason, who claims to be a fan, and what have you, but he's clueless. Because I said the moment he mentioned that Alex and Morgan were related (or had to be), that he should have confronted them about it. I know that got him trouble in his past season, but this is different, both are playing the game together from the beginning.
I agree that this season would be a lot better as a normal Big Brother season. It would be light years better than what we had this past season of Big Brother. America deciding everything has really kind of ruined this season, but I'm still at least invested in it to the point where I'll keep up to date of what is going on. Or at least until Alex is voted out, who is my favorite person just because she is actually playing this game hard, and I enjoy every moment of that for some reason.

At this point, with OTT, I watch the highlights and the episodes. I don't have time for anything else.
Alex is my favorite, as well. I think I liked Alex, Whitney, Shelby, and Morgan, plus Scott, because they had a better grasp on the game. I was frustrated that America was handing power to the Late Night Jamboree. Even though I don't like Kryssie's personality, I think she has game potential. I'll be able to look at her better this week since she's in power.
OTT can be better. Next season, no veterans and they should only allow America to either nominate or cast an eviction vote. Not both.

See, I feel like Alex and Scott know their stuff. Whitney knows it too, but she doesn't seem to be playing as hard as she could. Morgan only knows what Alex has let her in on. Morgan would literally jump in front of a bullet to help her sister win this game, she confirmed that tonight in her DR session. Alex... She wouldn't do that, she'd turn on Morgan (at least last I knew) in an instant, and I don't really blame her. She's a smart player. Probably too smart for her own good in a season like this.
Justin and Shelby really annoy me though, Neeley as well. Pretty much anyone who knows next to nothing about Big Brother. As someone who has watched since early on, but wouldn't call themselves a super fan, I don't like seeing people who don't know the game playing. It provides entertainment, sure, but for fans of good game play... It can be annoying. My biggest problem with Scott is the fact that he is trying so hard to be different than Ian and Steve, who I instantly compared him to when I saw him day one. He knows the game fairly well, and he is adapting over and over again, which is good, technically... But he just continues to rub me the wrong way every time I really think about him.
Then there is Jason. I didn't like Jason his first time around, and I still don't completely like him this time around either, but he is some what tolerable this time. I think his biggest issue is he isn't playing like "America" expected him too. I honestly figured Alex and Morgan would be revealed by now, especially with how he handled the twin twist in his last season. I get why he hasn't, he is worried about it, but he should pull the two aside and let them know, "Hey, I'm fairly positive you two are sisters, maybe cousins. I don't want to target you two, I want to work with you two", something like that. I know he has said he wants to work with Alex because she is a fan just like him, and she knows the game... But I don't know, I just feel like Jason and Alex could be running this show, and instead most people will tell you it is Alex and Scott (well, the house guests will) and really it is just Alex, while Scott is made to think he is doing things. Then again, I haven't watched much, so I could be way off.

Hey, guys. This is the question I was talking about in the Bedroom.
Would you guys like it if CBS would do a season of Survivor and a season of Big Brother with veterans from the other show? In other words, Survivor would cast players that have played Big Brother and Big Brother would cast players that have played Survivor? After watching so many seasons of both shows, I think it would be so interesting to see how great players from Survivor and Big Brother would be able to adapt to the other game. I think it would make great strategy developments in both games and would be entertaining.
If this is something that you would like, let me know. And let me know who you would cast.
So far, I had a couple of ideas of who I would like to cast for both shows.
SURVIVOR: Danielle (Evel Dick's Daughter), Kaysar, Victor, Liz, Vanessa, Dan, Enzo, Britney, Michele (BB11), Allison, Eric (BB8), Cody (BB16), Christine (BB16)
BIG BROTHER: Cirie, Brenda, Kim, Jeremy, Rodney, Colby, Alicia, Tony, Spencer.
Those are some initial thoughts that I had. I debate whether including winners from the other games would be a good idea, because I worry that players might go after the winners, by default, and it would make a boring week or two. But, then again, it would create great alliances and opportunities. Hard to say. What do you guys think of the idea?

I think such a season would be intresting.I don't have time to make a full cast list now so I am just listing my top for each show.
I would bring Rob C from Survivor to BB. He was originally in the running for BB3 and given his knowlage of BB through his RHAP coverage of BB, he could play a very dominate game. Plus I think the game he played in the Amazon is almost made for BB as opposed to Survivor.
As for BB player on Survivor, I will take Dr Will. He played two very dominate games of BB so I want to see how those skills translate to Survivor.

I think those are good casting choices, Matt. I feel like Rob Cesternino would play a great game on Big Brother. I see where you're coming from, there.
Dr. Will on Survivor would be very interesting, too. For me, he would either be able to play a very good game, or everyone would gang up on him. I could see him finding a Hidden Immunity Idol or two, and messing with the whole game.

SURVIVOR: Danielle (Evel Dick's Daughter), Kaysar, Victor, Liz, Vanessa, Dan, Enzo, Britney, Michele (BB11), Allison, Eric (BB8), Cody (BB16), Christine (BB16), Dr. Will, Nakomis, Maggie, Shane (BB14),
BIG BROTHER: Cirie, Brenda, Kim, Jeremy, Rodney, Colby, Alicia, Tony, Spencer, Rob Cesternino, Coby (Palau), Kelley Wentworth or Cierra (not both),
I like Matt's ideas for casting, so I included them in my list. It's definitely tough to cast, because you need a good mix of players. Plus, I like it when they give people from the early seasons another chance because the game was so different when it first started, that it would be interesting to see if they could adapt.
I think Coby from Palau would be a good choice. If he was on Big Brother, I think it would be an amazing. Because the way he played Survivor almost reminds me of Jason on BB. Coby would either be smart enough to make a great strategy or he would crash and burn early. He blew up his game on Survivor and part of that was because the Koror tribe kept winning. But, I personally would like to see Coby play again.
I would also add Kelley Wentworth. I love the way she played in Cambodia, and honestly I think she would do great on a Big Brother scenario.
I'm also trying not to cast too many people who were in the same season.
I also want to stay away from Survivor contestants that have just played too many times that there is really no uniqueness to them anymore. Would I love to see Boston Rob, Russell, or Rupert on television again? Yes, I do like them. But, I want to cast people that could do something different and surprising, if given another chance. That's why I would like to see Colby play, even though he's played three times on Survivor. I think he has the potential to become a different person on Big Brother, whereas Rupert, Boston Rob, and Russell probably wouldn't change their personas. It's the same reason I wouldn't cast Donny on Survivor. I love Donny as a person, but I don't think he'd be any different on Survivor versus Big Brother. And part of the elements for me casting certain contestants is that their strategy would either be adaptable to Big Brother or Survivor or I would be interested to see how they would change in that environment.

I really like that cast list! I only have a couple people I would change on it. Having Cody and Christine on the same season probably wouldn't go well, especially seeing as Christine and her husband recently divorced. I feel like Codys character is something that's been on Survivor a million times (Woo, maybe even Colby who's also on the season) so I would replace him with more of a personal favorite like Zach.
I'm also a little afraid with Brenda there's a high chance of the nasty Caramoan juror speech Brenda coming out over the nice gentle Nicaragua Brenda, considering the length of BB and how much time they'd be there. I would personally prefer Andrea for the "little ball of sunshine" type of person but I understand Brenda has her strengths too. Overall that's a great list though!

If you're talking about Zach from BB16, I definitely think that would be a good casting choice, Christian. I can understand your points about Cody and Christine.
Andrea, I almost forgot about. I would definitely think she would do a great job at playing Big Brother. That's another thing to consider as well, Christian. I like that point you brought up above about how people would act and react on the longer Big Brother. The fact that Big Brother is longer and the conditions are different, we may see different sides of people. I would be interested to see how many of the players we see as "heroes" on Survivor would quickly turn into villains on Big Brother. Big Brother always seems to get so much more personal than Survivor, and I think that has to do with the environment and the fact that the game is longer. Look at what it does to some players. I mean, think about Paulie. If Paulie was on Survivor, I think we would view him differently. I don't think he would have blown up like he did on Big Brother and said some of the controversial things that he did.
I debate about whether I would want to see Paulie on Survivor. Because on the one hand, I think he's a good strategic player. But, on the other hand, I really don't want to see players that were involved with controversial elements in Big Brother. Like with Frank's treatment of women, Paulie's statements about women, and most of the cast of Big Brother 15 saying the racist, sexist, and homophobic comments. I find it hard to separate the personal comments from excellent strategy. I mean, Aaryn from BB15 turned out to be quite the competitor and strategist, but nobody rooted for her because of the racist comments she said. I have no desire to see her on Big Brother or any of the cast members from BB15 on television again. Same reason why I wouldn't want to see Dan from Survivor White Collar, Blue Collar, No Collar. After he called Rodney's mother that very disgraceful word, I have no desire to see him get another chance on Survivor, either.
It's hard to say. But there are arguments for and against having Paulie or Frank on Survivor.

I think between Paulie and Frank, Frank would be the much better choice. Not only was he a better character in the first place, but he honestly didn't realize the things he was doing upset her. I'm not saying they were okay but when Day complained about Frank he apologized and stopped. Paulie was abusing people in a way that was much more clearly malicious in intent and didn't try to rectract that at all. I honestly don't think Frank should deserve to be classified as bad as Paulie. What he did was wrong but he did everything possible to correct that so I think he's at least better than him. But CBS would probably want to avoid the controversy and not being back either, so my points are kinda invalid lol

I know what you mean, Christian. I didn't approve of Frank's behavior, either, but the fact is: some people are okay with that kind of interaction and some people are not. When I was in college, I saw people spanking people on the butts frequently or behaving in a way similar to Frank. I've seen people pick women up and run down hallways with them just to be funny and show off their strength. I would not dare to spank a woman on the butt, but depending on the environment that you're in and the type of people you're around, that may be a common thing to do as a way to show friendship, affection, or some other kind of connection. I also remember when Frank called Davonne the "s" word, and while I thought that was very inappropriate, I also found Davonne calling Frank the "d" word was equally inappropriate. Name calling, in general, is uncalled for in any environment.
I wouldn't mind seeing Frank come back, because like you said above, he did apologize for his behavior and didn't do those actions anymore when he knew it offended Davonne. And I can see where some of the things he did would be "socially appropriate" depending on the environment you are in. It also seems that Big Brother casts individuals that are seemingly okay with physical contact. I mean, you see people on that show cuddling, dunking each other in the swimming pool, grabbing each other, playing pranks, hugging, etc. There seems to be a lot of physical interaction with people on that show. While it doesn't give you the right to spank someone's butt, necessarily, I can understand why someone might do something like that in that particular environment.
And the fact is: all of us are different. Some of us don't mind interactions like that, but others do. I would like to think Frank learned a valuable lesson from that experience.
